Money Currency For Peru
Technically, American currency hasn’t been redesigned since the 1930s. So, is it possible that new faces on American money can pull us out of a recession? Richard Smith, a strategy consultant, seems to think so. Smith is the mastermind behind the Dollar ReDe$ign Project. According to thinkcreatebelieve.com, “Smith specializes in transforming brands into wants and desires. Based on his extensive experience in branding & visual communication, Smith offers clients a distinct approach that combines brand strategy, marketing & design”. Smith believes that revamping the dollar bill will relieve the global recession through a rebrand and redesign. Could he be right?
In early 2009, Smith asked the public to submit their own, original ideas as to what they would like American money to represent. Of course, they still want American money to represent what America stands for. Creativity was highly encouraged for the project.
America Takes a Vertical Leap
It has been purposed that bills' images be depicted vertical rather than horizontal. Research shows that although the original bills' images are depicted horizontally, we don’t handle them horizontally. Machines accept bills vertically, when a purchase is made you hand over the bill vertically, and when digging out bills from your wallet or purse you tend to search vertically. Logically, a vertical dollar bill will fit our handling needs better as consumers.
